한국은 녹색성장을 말하지만 아직은 어떤 수를 써서라도 경제와 산업 발전 추구에 전념하는 듯 합니다.

그러나 녹색 성장은 자연환경을 파괴하고는 이루어질 수 없습니다.

지속 가능하지 않습니다.

우리는 자연과 더불어 살면서 한편으로는 통제하려는 모순 속에 있어요.

우리가 풍요로운 자연 유산을 잃어버린다면 미래 세대는 기성세대에게 반문할테죠.

경제적 가치 뿐 아니라 정신적, 문화적 가치가 있는 이 대체 불가능한 자원을 왜 파괴했는지를 말입니다.

두루미와 같이 사람들과 더불어 오랜 시간 한국의 시골지역을 같이 향유했던 이동성 철새들이 지금은 급격한 개발에 의해 위협받고 있습니다.

저는 한국의 자연유산 보전을 국가 발전 비전의 핵심으로 삼고 이러한 비전을 이해할 수 있도록 사회단체, NGO들, 시민들과 동반자 관계 및 신뢰를 구축할 수 있는 분이 한국의 차기 대통령이 됐으면 합니다.

Korea talks about green growth, but still seems intent on pursuing economic and industrial development at all cost.

Even green growth, however, cannot come at the expense of destruction of the natural environment.

It is simply not sustainable.

We need to work with nature, not try to control it and if we lose our rich natural heritage, future generations will look to their leaders and ask why they would destroy an irreplaceable resource, not just of economic importance but also spiritual and cultural value.

Just think of the migratory birds, such as cranes that have shared the Korean countryside with its people for generations, but are now threatened by rampant dvelopment.

I hope the next President can place conservation of Korea's natural heritage at the heart of the country's development vision and work hard to build partnerships and trust with communities, NGOs and citizens to realize this vision.
